Park Lane Hotel – Piccadilly, London

Description

Want to take tea somewhere special, but less self-important or self-conscious than the Ritz or Savoy? This place has an Art Deco lounge, a harpist, great service and fantastic quality. Go on, treat yourselves! And check out its own wartime role as the venue for the House of Commons in the event of parliament being bombed.

Fancy a Cuppa? Book CoverFancy a Cuppa?

Fancy a Cuppa? reviews 50 places across the UK for a good cup of tea or coffee and a nice piece of cake, a scone or other local delicacy. This is not a ’50 best’ tea rooms or cafes guide. Rather it includes places that have a story to tell.

Read the full description of this book on the books page and if you like what you see you can buy it from there too.

Menu

Basically three options (though there are more specials around Christmas and Valentines): the basic Park Lane afternoon tea at £25 (sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea); or the Art Deco tea with added champagne glass for 10 quid more; or the works which includes a bottle of champagne.
