Cakes at Tamper Coffee in Sheffield
Description
A bit of Kiwi coffee culture comes to Sheffield in this excellent coffee shop. A ‘destination’ coffee shop if ever I saw one.
The review of this coffee shop will appear in our book on tea and coffee in the UK’s cathedral towns and cities. Due out in 2013. For now, take a look at our earlier books…
Fancy a Cuppa?
Fancy a Cuppa? reviews 50 places across the UK for a good cup of tea or coffee and a nice piece of cake, a scone or other local delicacy. This is not a ’50 best’ tea rooms or cafes guide. Rather it includes places that have a story to tell. Read the full description of this book on the books page and if you like what you see you can buy it from there too.
Menu
Fantastic quality cup of coffee. Is it the milk, brought in fresh every morning from a small farm 3 miles away? Is it the beans, all roasted in small batches locally in Yorkshire? Is it the way he makes the coffee in the New Zealand style? Maybe it’s just the fact that every cup seems to count, and you can taste that in the quality. We chose a latte just because the previous customer did and it looked so good. We’d have had more than one cup if we didn’t have to ration our intake through the day. They do (Tea Pigs) tea as well, but this place leads on its coffee. The cakes are all baked locally, many to recipes dictated by the owners’ experiences in Australia and New Zealand: try the date scones, the coconut & raspberry slice or the ‘hashtag brownies’.
