Description

Previous customers have called them the ‘best scones in Yorkshire’ so we had to try. They were indeed good, and there’s a friendly welcome too in this Pateley Bridge High Street tea room.

The review of this tea room in Pateley Bridge appears in our new book on coffee and tea in North Yorkshire. It’s out now, so buy a copy here…

Menu

Previous customers have said of their scones: ‘best in Yorkshire’ and ‘best scones in the world…ever’, so we had to go in and try. The Fancy a Cuppa? team are not into league tables, but we can confirm they are pretty good. And they go down very nicely with a pot of Yorkshire Tea. All made by owner Ann, who makes a point of coming out from the kitchens to say hello to those of us sampling her scones. I got the tip too late, but I hear the speciality of the house are the cheese scones, served with Wensleydale cheese and red onion marmalade. There’s also a Nidderdale Cream Tea, at a very reasonable fiver for a scone, cake and pot of tea.
