Description
It’s only right that a tearoom in Skipton should have a sheep theme, especially on Sheep Street. This mother and daughter team bring home-made cakes and lovely loose-leaf tea to this beautiful Yorkshire Dales market town.
The review of this tea room in Skipton appears in our new book on coffee and tea in North Yorkshire. It’s out now, so buy a copy here…

Menu
A nice selection of loose-leaf teas from Taylor’s of Harrogate; we chose a pot of Assam, making a good, strong brew for the morning. The cakes and scones are all baked in-house. They have about six cakes on the go at any one time (we spotted: orange & lemon sponge; date & walnut; coffee; paradise slice), and the scones just keep appearing by the dozen (Charlotte reckons she makes 10 dozen a day at the moment!). Great quality all round.

Getting there
Skipton is just 40 minutes by train from Leeds, and then it’s a short hop to Settle for the famous line to Carlisle. By road, it’s 20 miles west of Harrogate on the A59; 25 miles north-west of Leeds on the A65. The tea room is right at the bottom of the High Street with an entrance on both the High Street side and the other on the cobbled Sheep Street.
Beware of searching for this tea room via Google Maps – it may send you instead to the village of Gargrave, so the map below is just to show Sheep Street in Skipton…
