Great coffee shop in Lane Cove tucked away by a car park and not appearing in a google search for coffee in Lane Cove but don’t miss Story Espresso if in the area.
The review of this coffee shop in Lane Cove, NSW is designed to fit in with our current tour of New South Wales outdoor swimming pools and this coffee shop was great for a post swim coffee after a dip in the swimming pool at Lane Cove. There’s no book planned for now but a new website http://oceanpoolsnsw.net.au. So for now take a look at our earlier books…

There’s a lot of good coffee in Sydney, but Story Espresso is the kind of place I’d go out of my way to visit. In fact, when you get to Lane Cove, you’ll quickly realise there are quite a few decent coffee shops serving up coffee from a good range of excellent roasters. So why did I choose Story?
I like it when a small coffee shop combines great coffee with friendly attitude and simple decor. The baristas at Story know about the coffees they have on offer – and there’s quite a range as they use an Adelaide roaster for their in-house espresso blend, they have single origins on offer and they use the excellent Seven Seeds from Melbourne for filter coffees. And there’s information on tasting notes for the single origins if you’re one of those people that likes those sorts of details.
I’ve been twice now and have had either a banana bread or muffin to go with the coffee. Both times pretty good quality, but this is the kind of coffee shop where I’d actually happily just come for a regular coffee if I lived in Lane Cove. Luckily I had two reasons to come here for a post swim coffee – staff friendly on both occasions, and ven a chance to speak a bit of French with the barista from Lille on my second visit.

Story Espresso on Facebook (very infrequent updates – in fact an unofficial Facebook for the same coffee shop has more customer reviews than this official page!) – There are more reviews on the google maps link below here.

Story Espresso is tucked away off the main shopping street of Lane Cove down a lane heading to the main car park in Lane Cove. I found it by chance after getting out of my car and heading towards the swimming pool. Lots of buses also go to Lane Cove so you can easily get here by public transport, too.
