Kickaboom – coffee shop in Glenbrook, NSW

Glenbrook has a fantastic village community in the foothills of the Blue Mountains and now has a speciality coffee shop to add to its attractions. Best coffee in Glenbrook, though there is competition!

The review of this coffee shop in Glenbrook, NSW is designed to fit in with our current tour of New South Wales outdoor swimming pools and this coffee shop was great for a post swim coffee after a dip in Glenbrook outdoor Olympic pool in NSW. There’s no book planned for now but a new website So for now take a look at our earlier books…

Crossing Paths, Crossing Borders

This 2016 publication recounts our journey from Yorkshire to Australia via 25 countries. It includes an annex with our 100 top tips for coffee or tea on the road, including this venue.

Read the full description of this book on the books page and if you like what you see you can buy it from there too..

Such a great range of coffees on offer at Kickaboom. The standard bean for milk-based espresso drinks comes from the excellent Reuben Hills roaster’s in Sydney’s Surry Hills. It’s such a smooth flat white that I don’t mind being told the coffee from Melbourne and the Cherry Picker espresso is for people who want their coffee black. The thing is, the guys at Kickaboom might look a bit hipster, but they are probably friendly enough to make you a coffee any way you like if you engage them in a chat about coffee.

But Kickaboom also has excellent teas from Assembly in Melbourne, a gorgeous looking turmeric, ginger and honey for your chai latte, and fantastic hot chocolate from Mork. This is a superb coffee shop for such a small town (village even) like Glenbrook.

Getting there

Glenbrook is one of the first turn offs from the highway as you head into the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. It is also on the Blue Mountains railway to Katoomba. Once in Glenbrook – whether by road or train – the coffee shop is easy to find on the main shopping street in the village.
