Great coffee in New Lambton village in the western suburbs of Newcastle NSW, but also friendliest welcome to a stranger I’ve had in a long time. Nice decor too.
The review of this coffee shop in New Lambton, NSW is designed to fit in with our current tour of New South Wales outdoor swimming pools and this coffee shop was great for a post swim coffee after a dip in Lambton outdoor Olympic pool in NSW. There’s no book planned for now but a new website http://oceanpoolsnsw.net.au. So for now take a look at our earlier books…

This was such a good find for my post swim coffee in Lambton in Newcastle’s west. It’s actually in New Lambton, which has a real village feel, and the first thing I noticed was the incredibly friendly service, both on arrival and when I left. It’s a really relaxed coffee shop with interesting clientele, quirky décor and seating both inside and out.
The coffee is roasted locally in Newcastle just for Corner Lane and there were no eyebrows raised at me wanting a big mug of my flatwhite (I was thirsty after my swim workout). There’s also a nice mix of cakes and tarts on one side of the counter, and some delicious danish pastries and other tasty breakfast nibbles against the wall on the other side.
I loved this place and felt like it wold be my regular haunt if I lived anywhere near this part of Newcastle.

It’s less than ten minutes walk from Lambton Pool to get to Corner Lane Espresso even though the coffee shop is officially in the separate suburb of New Lambton. Lots of buses to central Newcastle. The coffee shop is tucked away to the side of the main street in a little paved square.
