Drop In Tea Room – Boronia, VIC

This cosy tea room in Boronia on the eastern side of Melbourne has one of the best tea menus we’ve seen in Australia and it sits at the entrance of an arcade in Boronia too.

The review of this tea room in Boronia is designed to fit in with our tour of vintage buildings in Victoria and this tea room was great for a proper afternoon tea around a visit to Boronia in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. There’s no book planned for now but a new website for Vintage Victoria is up and running now. Take a look at our earlier books, though…

Crossing Paths, Crossing Borders

This 2016 publication recounts our journey from Yorkshire to Australia via 25 countries. It includes an annex with our 100 top tips for coffee or tea on the road, including this venue.

Read the full description of this book on the books page and if you like what you see you can buy it from there too..

A fantastic menu of teas here, with some of our favourites: a first flush Darjeeling, a French Early Grey, and a Russian Caravan, all loose leaf of course, and brought in from some great suppliers like TWG from Singapore. And the tea enthusiasts from Malaysia and Tanzania who run this place are constantly looking for new ideas to develop their tea selection and bring it to the people of Boronia and beyond.

They have a great selection of home-baked cakes lined up along the wall, but if you want the full afternoon tea, which I think they call High Tea, you need to book in advance.
