Berry Tea Shop – tea room in Berry, NSW

Delightful tea room in the beautiful town of Berry. It’s all top quality loose leaf tea here, but I come as much for the amazing home-baked cakes – best I’ve tasted in Australia!

The review of this tea room in Berry NSW is designed to fit in with our tour of New South Wales outdoor swimming pools and this tea room was great for a post swim cuppa after a dip in Berry outdoor pool. There’s no book planned for now but a new website So for now take a look at our earlier books…

Crossing Paths, Crossing Borders

This 2016 publication recounts our journey from Yorkshire to Australia via 25 countries. It includes an annex with our 100 top tips for coffee or tea on the road, including this venue.

Read the full description of this book on the books page and if you like what you see you can buy it from there too..

Berry Tea Shop is all about tea and cake. The teas are second to none, with the Earl Grey a particular favourite and the Darjeeling excellent, but the best test of how good a tea room’s tea is for me, is to take a pot of their standard English Breakfast tea and see how good it tastes. The one here is so good and strong I choose it most times I come here.

Then there are the cakes. All baked by co-owner Cliff, there is always a whole table of different cakes to choose from at the back of the tea room. If they have it in, I almost always go for the humming bird cake – I’d sincerely love to know how to make a cake this good; but then maybe it’s best to keep it for special treats like a visit to the Berry Tea Shop instead.
